We challenge the line agencies, legislators and national government to immediately stop the leasing of public land to foreign corporations. Instead, public lands that have huge potential to ensure food security and nation building should be distributed to Filipino small farmers.
The National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) and Chinese conglomerate, SINOMACH have agreed to jointly develop a large-scale sugarcane cultivation and processing project in Nigeria.
The federal government through the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA) Ilorin, formally allocated 4,000 hectares of farmland to Origin Tech Group to carry out mechanised agriculture in Ejiba, Kogi state, in line with national food security agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

The Italian agricultural group Bf Spa, in partnership with the Algerian National Investment Fund (Fni), is launching this high-tech regenerative farming initiative that will initially cultivate 3,000 hectares of durum wheat, with plans to expand to 10,000 hectares of dried legumes.
The president of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has set a strategic objective to extend the cultivated area in the south to 500,000 hectares, including investments from Qatar for 117.,000 hectares and from Italy for 36,000 hectares, as well as national investments for 120,000 hectares.

The Public Investment Fund has transferred its ownership stakes in Almarai, the National Agricultural Development Company, and the Saudi Fisheries Company to the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC).
Zimbabwe's National Social Security Authority says it will begin to shift some of its investments to agriculture value chains such as maize, wheat, soya and export crops such as macadamia and blue berries.
