FELDA Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) is scouting for oil palm land in the Asean region, Cameroon and Nigeria.

A private initiative, Stallion Group, has indicated its readiness to invest in rice production in Edo State, just as the state government assured it of a conducive environment.

"We have also approved the allocation of 20, 000 hectares of land to a Chinese company for rice production," says state governor, Alhaji Garba Umar.

The Federal Government and Singapore's Olam, which has 6,000 hectares under cultivation of rice, announce collaboration towards managing the impact of an imminent rice crisis in Nigeria.
