The integrated rice milling facility is situated at the heart of Olam’s 6,000-hectare greenfield irrigated and mechanised paddy farm in Nigeria’s Nasarawa State.
A group of South African investors have indicated interest to plough $200 million in the agriculture sector and acquire an initial 5,000 ha in Nigeria's Edo, Enugu and Benue states.
Nigeria's Sokoto state government has approved the allocation of 33,000 hectares of farmland to Dangote Group of companies for the plantation of sugarcane.
The Movement for The Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) says Rivers State Government fraudulently acquired over 2,000 ha of Ogoni farmlands and handed them to a Mexican farmer for a banana plantation.

Over 5,000 farmers from Kebbi State have been displaced as the state government took over their farmlands and allocated them to a Chinese firm for mass agricultural production.
The Taraba Government on Monday said that Dangote Group had paid N1.2 billion to it as compensation for land acquired in Lau Local Government Area of the state.

The Nigerian government and Taraba State signed an MOU for 30,000 hectares with Calvin Burgess, a US investor and owner of Dominion Farms Ltd, for large scale rice production in Taraba State.
He said the conglomerate would require about 250,000 hectares of land for sugar cane production and 130,000 hectares for rice farming.
