Gulf agribusiness companies found their panacea in Egypt, which is prioritizing investment in large-scale, modernized farming to export crops over pursuing strategic crop cultivation and traditional farming methods in the Nile Valley and Delta.
Elite Agro LLC, registered in Abu Dhabi, recently acquired the 100% ownership in Al Rawafed Holding, thus also becoming the owner of 12,000 hectares of arable land in Serbia and one of the largest landowners in the country.

Abu Dhabi-based Elite Agro LLC, a cereal-producing company, recently acquired 100 percent ownership of AL Rawafed Holding, making the Arab company the owner of 12,000 hectares of arable land in Serbia and joining the group of leading domestic landowners.
MOUs signed by UAE government include a 2,500 ha SEZ zone with Uganda for large-scale agricultural development and another with Al Dahra Holding for collaboration on the implementation of the National Strategy for Future Food Security.
