Karuturi workers demonstrate along Naivasha Nakuru highway over their pay

Police were forced to intervene when workers of the troubled Karuturi Flower Farms went on strike to demand their two months salaries during the day long incident. One of the workers was seriously injured. The incident came barely two days after four workers tried to commit suicide outside the farm's gates in protest. The workers also claimed they had been living without water and electricity for the last  three months, raising fears of disease outbreaks. The demonstrators claim they have worked tirelessly for the flower farm without any pay and had therefore decided to take to the streets so that their grievances could be heard. Efforts to get a comment from the flower farm management were fruitless as all senior management had gone out of their offices.
