Formalisation des droits fonciers locaux et régulation des investissements agricoles : Propositions des acteurs français

A l’heure où de nombreuses institutions internationales et agences de développement appuient la mise en œuvre de politiques et de programmes de formalisation, où les investissements privés dans les terres s’accélèrent, et où l’élaboration de principes pour améliorer la gouvernance foncière et encadrer les investissements dans le secteur agricole se multiplient, la France est appelée à clarifier ses positions et à les traduire dans les faits par des mesures concrètes.

Dans ce contexte et avec l’aide du Comité technique « Foncier et développement » (CTFD) , le MAEDI et l’AFD ont engagé deux chantiers de réflexion, ayant pour objectif de définir une position française, identifiant une série de principes politiques et opérationnels qui guideront à l’avenir l’action de la France et de ses opérateurs.

Le Comité technique « Foncier et Développement » invite ses membres et partenaires nationaux et internationaux à partager et mettre en débat ses analyses, dans la perspective d’une contribution à un positionnement français officiel.

The four-day conference on Land Policy in Africa will be a policy and learning event. Its overall objective will be to deepen capacity for land policy in Africa through improved access to knowledge and information, in support of evidence-based land policymaking and implementation.

Throughout Melanesia, community land is being threatened. Foreign land grabs, land privatisation and foreign direct investment are pursued as a means to accelerate economic growth in the region. AID/WATCH is hosting 3 speakers from PNG and Vanuatu to travel Australia and share their experience of defending customary land

Public hearing will take stock of the land grabbing phenomenon in the EU, gather views from civil society representatives and key stakeholders, and discuss the implications of this process for the environment, jobs, the local population, rural life and food security. Interpretation will be available to and from English, French, German, Estonian and Hungarian.

Conference to assess developments and impacts of agribusiness expansion on human rights in Southeast Asia, and the existing and further efforts required from National Human Rights Institutions and Civil Society Organisations at the local, national, regional and international levels to ensure that rights are protected and international human rights law respected

The conference will explore the phenomenon of land grab. Speakers, panelists and papers will look at country case studies, challenges, advantages and disadvantages of the sale and lease of large swathes of arable land to powerful foreign individuals, multinationals and governments.
