Former Nigerian president and notorious land grabber Olusegun Obasanjo and UK rock star Bob Geldof say "Africa needs large, commercial farms as well as small ones."

Richer countries that are investing in land abroad for food cultivation should also educate the poor about agricultural methods, so that food production can be increased to a level at which poor people can produce enough for investing countries as well as themselves, says Bob Geldof.

Sir Bob Geldof has warned UK pension funds they are missing out on the “last great investment opportunity left” by not placing money in Africa -- including its arable lands.
