A proposed land market model envisages that only Ukrainians and Ukrainian companies will have the right to buy and sell land, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

Leah Soroka, program manager for Eastern Europe and central Asia agri-finance with the World Bank's IFC, said the President's proposal to privatise farmland would be a game-changer.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy says he wants parliament to adopt a law on the agricultural land market and lift the moratorium on the sale of land by December 1, 2019.

The World Bank and the Finance Ministry of Ukraine signed an agreement to raise a loan in the amount of USD 200 million for the programme Accelerating Private Investment in Agriculture.
