Sonoma County slates $125 million for agriculture fund

By  ROB KOZLOWSKI

Sonoma County Employees' Retirement Association, Santa Rosa, Calif., committed up to $125 million to Fiera Comox Global Agricultural Fund, said Steven Marsh, senior investment officer.

The $3.4 billion pension fund completed the commitment to the open-end agriculture fund to complement its investment in UBS AgriVest Farmland Fund, Mr. Marsh said.

Since 2010, the pension fund's sole farmland investment has been in the UBS AgriVest fund. As of June 30, SCERA had $151 million invested in the fund.

As of June 30, the pension fund's actual allocation to real assets was 23.6%.
