Minister of Finance and Development Planning Government of Botswana 63. To increase access to land by potential investors, efforts are being made to identify unutilised agricultural land for leasing to investors. Currently, about 15 000 hectares of unutilised agricultural land have been identified in the Southern District and consultations with land owners for possible leasing are ongoing. A total of 16 state farms have been leased to both local and foreign investors in an effort to commercialise agriculture.
