Cambodia government has announced a new review of economic land concessions, shortening the period of some from 99 years to 50 years. Land concessions to private enterprises over the years has creating thousands of land disputes and causing many people to become displaced.

Twenty-three companies holding a total of 90,682 hectares in Cambodia economic land concessions (ELCs) have had their concessions rescinded, while another 20 are being monitored.
