Ten Chinese firms are close to reaching final investment deals with an agricultural cooperation zone in Kyrgyzstan, following the entry of another six Chinese firms last year.
Chinese businessman Lu Xianfeng said he wants to increase production, to meet a booming Chinese demand.
Dongfang Modern said in a statement that it was buying 5,270 hectares of land via two deals in the province of Jiangxi for $76 million. The company will own more than 8,000 hectares after the deals are completed.
Laos says it will expand agricultural plantation areas and set up plantation regions to boost exports to China.
US real estate company Property Connections of Bay City says it has sold over $100 million worth of farmland in Texas in the last two years to Chinese buyers.

China aims to build a number of large-scale agricultural groups that it will encourage to step out of the country through establishing joint ventures with foreign firms or conducting mergers and acquisitions.
Wanjin Agricultural Development Company operates 10 farms in a venture with Zimbabwe's Ministry of Defense with a total land size exceeding 10,000 ha and it hopes to have acquired 40,000 ha more by 2018.
