At least 100 farmers joined a protest in front of the Department of Agriculture in Quezon City led by the members of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) in the Philippines such as the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), AMIHAN (National Federation of Peasant Women), UMA (Union of Agricultural Workers), and the PAMALAKAYA (National Federation of Small Fisherfolks of the Philippines). Also present is the Anakpawis partylist and the National Network of Agrarian Reform Advocates (NNARA)-Youth.

“End Landgrabbing! was declared by the participants of the “South Asian Caravan on Climate, Gender, and Food Sovereignty 2011” that went from North to South Bangladesh.
Peasant leaders and agrarian reform advocates joined their Filipinos counterparts in the first “International Speak Out Against Global Land grabbing” held in Quezon City.
The Asian Peasant Coalition and Peasant Movement of the Philippines slam World Bank’s “seven principles”.

Asian Peasant Coalition composed of 20 Asian country members join the protests on Sunday in Mendiola, Manila, calling to stop global landgrabbing
An internal document recently posted on IRRI's website reveals that the Institute has been advising Saudi Arabia in the context of its strategy to acquire farm land overseas for its own food production.
One of the objectives of the caravan is to send the Asian peasants’ strong message against global land grabbing and inspire other peasants worldwide.
