    Indonesia's defense minister has overseen a drive that has brought an area the size of Switzerland under state control, with the central government taking more than 4 million hectares of plantations, mine concessions and processing facilities.

    Dalam pengarahan ke kepala daerah se-Papua dan Komite Eksekutif Percepatan Pembangunan Otonomi Khusus Papua (16/12/2025), Prabowo mempertegas “daerah Papua harus ditanam kelapa sawit untuk BBM, tebu dan singkong untuk etanol” semua bertujuan demi swasembada energi. Yayasan Pusaka Bentala Rakyat mengidentifikasi ada 94 perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit di Papua dengan luas 1.332.032 hektar. Ironisnya, perkebunan sawit dimaksud hanya dikuasai dan dimiliki segelintir korporasi yang dekat dengan penguasa.
