Investors lose seven farms in Morogoro

Certificates of occupancy for seven farms, with a total 1,880.6 hectares in Morogoro Region have been revoked and will be redistributed to the citizens in view of solving land disputed between famers and pastoralists.

 

This was said in the National Assembly here by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Development, Mr William Ole Nasha, when responding to a question by Dr Christine Ishengoma (Special Seat - CCM).

 

He disclosed that the farms, owned by different people, were at Wami Luhindo Village. The deputy minister named the farm owners with their hectares in brackets as Mr Karim Wali (500), Lusingo Kibasisi (200), Nikolaus Antony (52.3), Joseph Hall (166) and Joseph Kato (24.7).

 

For Nguru ya Ndege village, according to the deputy minister, are Badrun and Karim Dharamishi (392.6) while at Wami Valley is Emmanuel Gereta (545).

 

The deputy minister pointed out further that several other title deeds for farms with total 549,000 hectares in the region have been forwarded to the Ministry of Lands and Human Settlement Developments for revocation.
